Gabriel was training to start Bible translation for the 150,000 Bokoto people, but it appeared that he had cancer on the spine. Many people prayed. Then the tumour was completely removed in an operation in Cameroon.

"God has defeated the enemy!" said the director of ACATBA. "He wanted to destroy the Bokoto people's hope of knowing God better.

"But the powers of hell will not conquer." (Matt 16:18).

Please pray for Gabriel's battle to recover fully, and for funds for his very expensive drugs."
Kenya

Following the recent Presidential and Parliamentary elections in Kenya, there has been some rioting and deaths in certain locations in Nairobi and other towns.  However, security forces have succeeded in keeping them fairly well contained.  SIL, BTL and Wycliffe leadership are not aware of any of their staff who have been directly affected by these events.  At this time, it is not possible to predict the outcome of the current situation.

Please pray for: a quick resolution and a return to stability.'

The Christians that perished in the fire were in the Assemblies of God church in Eldoret, which is where much of the Endo translation has
been done.  But the Endo area is about 60 miles away.  The fighting has been between the Kikuyu (the President's tribe) and "the rest".  The people who died in the church were Kikuyu.  There is a danger of civil war according to the Times'.

It seems like good news but please hold Philemon Kisang and his family in your prayers. Philemon is one of the team leaders and the last I heard, he and his family were living in Eldoret.
