Our Minister and Family

Rev. Jonathan Greaves has been with the Church since September 1999.

Jonathan became a Christian through his home church, Central Baptist in Southampton. Since then he has been eager to show that being a Christian is about having a personal relationship with Jesus, rather than being religious; and that the Bible is God's Word and still relevant today!

Jonathan prepared for the Baptist Ministry at the South Wales Baptist College (Cardiff) where he also gained a Bachelors and a Masters degree. After graduating, he was for three years the Assistant Pastor at Hanham Baptist Church, Bristol, where one of his responsibilities was to encourage and co-ordinate the youth work.

Before training for the ministry, he spent a year as a voluntary evangelist with the London City Mission. Among his interests are music and he used to play keyboards for Jehoshaphat's Camel and other Christian rock groups. These have involved him in youth missions in Poland and Bulgaria as well as in the UK. He is also continuing with part-time studies at the University of Wales about the place of children in Baptist churches and recently finished a 3 month sabbatical.

Jonathan and Samantha met in Cardiff and have been married since August 1998.

They have three daughters, Eden Olivia born 22nd June 2004, Carmel Jane born 13th May 2006 and Keilah Grace born 19th September 2007.

They are the proud carers of their pet tropical fish!
