Reaching Out
“Hey I know you! You
spoke at my school.” We were met with shouts and waves as we walked down the
main street of Monmouth.
Kids were coming down
in droves after school had let out for the day. We couldn’t help but look at
each other and smile, praising God that the work with the local high school was
affecting lives. At Christmas we had been in to take religious education
classes, and this week we are taking assemblies (usually a daily meeting of all
the students and teachers). Our hard work has been worth it!
As we walked up the
main street of Monmouth, we were met by not one, but two kids from the local
high school who wanted to stop for a chat. We had just been in to take their
assemblies, and were wondering what the impact had been, but trusting God to use
it for His glory.
When I asked
what they thought of the assembly, this was one response. “It was really good!
You guys persuaded many people to check out Christian Union.” I enquired if he
was going to check it out as well, to which he responded that he was Hindu. Upon
further discussion, and explaining that just going to CU doesn’t convert you, he
said that he might go see what it was all about.
